There's a first time for everything!

So Ashlynne spent the night at her friends house last night and I heard that they were going to go skiing so I asked her friend's mom to take some pictures for us.  I did not want to miss out on an opportunity to take pictures of Ashlynne's first time skiing.  Anyway, I was told she did a great job minus a few spills.  Here are a few pictures of Ashlynne's ski adventure.

Individual Updates

I thought I would give a little personal update on everyone these days.  Overall, things have been somewhat quiet because it is winter and it has been snowing a lot and pretty cold outside for us Texan natives.

Elyse - Elyse enjoys drawing, listening to music, and actually writing music and plays.  She is really good at drawing.  I don't think I know another person her age who can draw the way that girl draws.  You can tell that is definitely one of her talents.  School has been going good for her.  Her grades are doing well and she has made some friends.

Valerie - Valerie has been staying busy with her friends, either at our house or their house.  Despite missing her Texas friends, she has been doing just fine meeting other people here.  She has always had that friendly outgoing personality.  She is also doing well in school and has been doing some babysitting to make some extra money.

Ashlynne - Ashlynne has been doing really well in school.  She presented in school and received a nice compliment from her teacher that she had good eye contact.  She also has been making some friends and will occassionally spend the night there.  She also loves spending time with her dog Thumper.  Oh yeah, and she has also been babysitting to make some extra money.

Gersito - Gersito has been doing really well in school too.  His best subject is Math and he is above his grade level in all subjects this year.  He also joined band but I don't think he is too crazy about it because it is hard to get him to practice everyday.  Other than that, Gersito keeps busy by playing with his rabbit and giving it a bath (which isn't always a good thing).  :)

Ian - Ian has been doing well at school.  Although the last few days he has wanted to stay with me.  He talks all the time and says the funniest things.  His favorite movie right now is any Power Ranger movie and he loves to mimic their sounds and actions.  He is quite the funny little man.

Justin - Justin has been balancing working and being at home.  When he is at home, he loves to take care of things around the house, which I should probably say I love too.  He cooks, fixes things, runs errands, takes kids to appointments, etc.  Life is good when he is home and soon hopefully he will be home for good.

Melissa - I have been staying busy with looking for a job, taking care of the kids, and school.  By the week of February 22, I should find out if I make the cut for an interview.  Apparently they had a 12% increase from the 400+ applicants last year.  So 20 out of 400+ is going to be tough.  Either way, I will be okay, I'm ready to work and get my husband home so we can all be together.

So, this year is starting out well.  Everyone is doing good.  We are all just waiting for the sun to shine and the snow to melt.

Valentines 2010

As you all know, our kids are just growing up so fast.  None of them wanted to hand out Valentines Day cards to their friends at school except for Ian.  At least one of our kids is young enough to enjoy this holiday.  The girls wanted to help Ian fill out his cards which was good because he was getting those heart stickers EVERYWHERE.  After taking him to the store, he ended up choosing......

hmmmm........

Power Rangers!!
