Celebrating our Anniversary.

Unfortunately today we are unable to celebrate this day together, but somehow anytime we can't be together on special days like this, we always seem to figure out a way to make them feel special, even 1,000 miles apart.  So this is my way of doing that for you today.  I love you. - Melissa

What makes us "US" today?

Pumpkins 2009

PHOTOS of the pumpkins.  In case you can't tell, this is what they are....

Elyse = a heart
Val & Tessa (her friend) = transformers
Ashlynne = Twilight
Gersito = Maplestory
Ian = kitty kat w/ sharp teeth

Slideshow of the pumpkin carving party.....

Aren't they cute?

Here are some pictures of the kids hanging out at the house.  I don't have all the kids because Valerie was at a friend's house and Gersito was grounded in his room.  Enjoy...

Thumper and the Kids

ook how big he is now!  I can't believe how quickly that dog grows.  I also can't believe all the furniture that dog is chewing up.  If anyone has some good advise about how to get that dog from chewing up our good furniture, please let us know.  Thanks!

Julia & Raina's Birthday Party

Check out the fun we had....and the crazy clown that was there.  He even asked Ashlynne to participate in a prank, which she did for a short time, but then called it quits.  I would too if I were her, he was trying to give away wet kisses.  How dare he in front of her step-mom!  No clown is going to be giving any of my children wet kisses that's for sure!  :)

If only you could hear him now....

These days Ian has been such a chatter box.  The other night before bed he said, "Mommy, it's fall, did you see the leaves falling?"  Then, today when I picked him up from school he saw some birthday gifts I had in the car for his cousins Raina and Julia and he said, "Mom, where did you buy this?  This is soooo cool?"  He talks so grown up.  He also has learned to handle his own when it comes to the other kids and Thumper.  When someone (or a dog) makes him mad he says, "You are not my friend anymore and you can not come to my house anymore either."  So much personality at such a young age.  I wonder where he comes up with this stuff??

Oh yeah and his most common phrase to Thumper these days is, "Oh, child dog!"  I guess he is copying me because I say "Oh, child" when Ian breaks something so it is quite comical that he says the same to Thumper when he chews something up (which is very common these days), but then adds the word dog at the end.  What a silly little boy.

Turning 34

Well, as some of you know, 34 is not the ideal age to be turning (especially when you have a husband who is slightly younger than you). I can't believe how fast time goes, yet at the same time when I think about all the years I have left to live, 34 does not seem old.

So, thank you all for helping me enjoy my day and making it special. I loved the phone calls, texts and gifts that I got from you all.

Have a great day.

Love,

- Melissa

Buzz Lightyear

Ian tried on several different costumes and he finally settled on this one. He wanted to try it on again at home....here he is showing it off. What a silly little boy.

Considering buzz lightyear is supposed to come to the rescue....it sure looks like someone needs to rescue him from a wedgie.....

Our Youngest Cutie Pie

Hannah's Birthday

We had a really nice time at Hannah's birthday party. Hannah is Jenni's oldest daughter. And for those of you who don't know, Jenni is Justin's cousin.

The birthday girl...so cute!

Ian hanging out with Maddie
(There was so much light in the room, so this is the best I got)

Justin's Auntie Cindie (Jenni's Mom), Justin's Cousin Robbie (Jenni's Brother)
and Maddie (Jenni's youngest daughter)

Jenni and her man Andrew
(they were caught off guard when I took the picture)

Justin's Uncle Bob (Jenni's Father)

Ian being silly

So one evening I was sitting at the kitchen table trying to finish my Chemistry homework and Ian comes up to me and says, "Cool dude." I look at him and he looks like this.... too funny!

Then as I begin to take pictures, he starts being really silly....

Making our First Snowman

All the kids wanted to go outside and make their first snowman together so here are some pictures. Elyse was the only one who did not feel like going out in the cold.

Check out the hat on this girl! :)
She is secretly a Packer fan!

Just a little more snow.

Here we go again! Isn't it a little early for this?

Our First Snow

It was really nice waking up to this. Isn't it beautiful? It is also cute to see our kids so excited about it and Ian keeps singing that he loves the snow.

The Well Awaited Night...Came to a Sad End

Justin and I had waited for a very long time to go to the Vikings/Packer game this season. Weeks prior to the game Justin and I were dishing out jokes and comments about how the game would go. Needless to say, as you all know, Justin was the one who was grinning ear to ear by the time we went to bed. Despite how the game ended, it was a good time and I think I was a good trooper dealing with all the crap that I got afterwards from Justin's family (since I dished it out prior to the game). Well, it was a fun night, but now all I can think about is hoping that those Packers do better than what I've seen lately....we really need to kick some Viking butt this season! Here are a few pictures from the night.

Hyped up and ready for the game!

Packers coming out!

Vikes ready to roll!

This was AWESOME!! (Minus the crazy drunk in front of us)

Right before we left the house

Too many Vikings fans when we first walked in....

Ian actually said, "My Vikings." I think he was confused!

OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!
