Rodeo Time!

After being here in Houston for 4-1/2 years and never going to the rodeo I finally got to go. It was nice to have a night out with some of the girls. We ended up going to see Taylor Swift which is not one of my favorite singers but I decided to go just to hang with the girls. I'm glad I did. We had a great time! And, I actually ended up enjoying Taylor Swift, I guess it helped knowing that I had a girl at home who loved one of Taylor's songs. Anyway, after repeated attempts to try to call Ashlynne so she could hear the song live and getting no signal, I settled for recording it on my phone for her.

So because of some boots from a boy and a white horse on the package and not to mention Taylor Swift singing this song at the rodeo, I've included that song onto our slide show. Enjoy everyone! And as Alison put it....thanks for the memories girls!

Hey girls - remember that old man in front of us getting down? Too funny!

The Joys of Parenting....the sweet moments.

So I thought I would share just a couple of things that Ian has done that I thought were just so sweet. One day while reading to him, he pointed to the crease in my thumb and said, "you okay mommy?" as if he thought it was a cut. When I told him I was okay, he said, "oh, okay mommy." How sweet and thoughtful is that? :)

Then, another time I was sitting in the car waiting on Elyse and I rested my head on the head rest of the seat and Ian says, "your tummy hurt, mommy?" After I told him I was okay he again said, "oh, okay mommy." He is such a sweetie so concerned if I'm feeling okay.

My last story I'm going to share is kind of a corny one, but yet so cute. Justin was away on a job and I heard Ian coming down stairs and he comes into our bedroom and hops onto our bed. After I feel no movement on the bed, I open my eyes and I see Ian staring at me. I quick close my eyes in hopes that he would lay down and fall back asleep just for a moment because I wasn't quite ready to wake up. After there was still no movement, I opened my eyes to see if he fell asleep but yet again Ian was still staring at me. I asked him if he was okay and he said "yeah mommy." Then I closed my eyes again (still hoping he would just lay down for a minute) but then he said, "Mommy, I love you." I about melted while the entire time he was sitting there staring at me he must have been thinking something along those lines.

These are the moments that make parenting so much fun. When you know you are making them feel loved and they are reciprocating it back. :)

The Verdict

Here are the names for the toddlers shown below in relation to Ian.

Picture #1 = Uncle Adam
Picture #2 = Grandpa
Picture #3 = Daddy
Picture #4 = Mommy
Picture #5 = Pop
Picture #6 = Aunties

We had 1 vote for Uncle Adam, 7 votes for Daddy, 1 vote for Pop and 3 votes for Aunties. So, according to everyone, Ian looks most like his Daddy. So, here are the lists of which traits where inherited by each side of the family:

Turner
height
hair color
eye shape
nose
crooked finger
small head
his walk

Allen
eye color
eye lashes
face shape

Its kind of funny to see what people came up with. Thanks for everyone's input! Have a great day!

Happy 31st Birthday Daddy/Hubby!

HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY!

Today marks another year for you - and lucky for you there are not too many signs that you are getting older (except for maybe a couple new gray hairs). What I love most about this day is that according to numbers, you are only 2 years younger than me instead of 3 now! Actually, what I love most about this day is that you were born many, many years ago (haha) and now I have you in my life.

I'm sorry we all could not be together on your birthday, but just remember that we all love you with all our hearts. You are so important to our family and you are the one that always gets us through every situation. Thank you for being so strong, faithful, loving and caring to all of us. We love you Dad. And, I love you Baby.

Have a happy day! Thinking of you with lots of love.....

New Design

Well, here is our new design! We were able to get this done through a friend's friend. We got very lucky. She did a really good job. I filled out a questionnaire and she came up with this. You can also be more specific in what you want and she even posts photos in your header. If anyone is interested in her work, you can check out her website at www.greatgrabbiedesigns.blogspot.com.
